Cefuroxime

Description

Cefuroxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, bones, joints, bladder, or kidneys. Cefuroxime is also used to treat gonorrhea, sepsis, or early Lyme disease. 

How to Take 

Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed by a physician. 

Cefuroxime is taken by mouth. 

Swallow the tablet whole and do not crush, chew, or break it. Take with or without food. 

Warnings 

Consult your doctor if you have an allergy to an antibiotic, especially penicillin, before taking Cefuroxime. 

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Cefuroxime.
