Description
Celecoxib is a specific, safe, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat mild to moderate pain and help relieve symptoms of arthritis (e.g. osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or juvenile rheumatoid arthritis), such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain. It is also used in familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) to reduce precancerous polyps in the colon. Celecoxib offers therapeutic options to patients who experience ulcer and GIT side effects with other classes of NSAID, as it has a superior safety and tolerability profile to other NSAIDs.
How to Use
200mg to be taken once daily or in two divided doses. An increased dose of 200mg twice daily can be taken by some patients for increased efficacy in severe pain as recommended by a physician.
Warnings
Do not take Celecoxib if you have a history of asthma, urticaria, or other allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs.
Do not use Celecoxib in pregnancy.
Do not combine Celecoxib with other NSAIDs.
